Solange has asthma. This was the morning where her breathing was very bad. They cannot get the medical help they need for her. Solange has an adoptive family in Texas that would like to have her come and live with them but the Rwandan government won't have it!
It's so sad that a family wants to help her and get her proper medical atttention and the government won't allow it! Does that mean the Rwandan government is against all forgein adoptions?

So she asked that I pass on that she and her friends are LOVING all the pictures! And to pass on her love of course! :) She wants you to know she is reading each of them. :)

Thanks Jesse. They are very protective of their children. I think a lot of it is because of the genocide. With so many rwandans murdered they have become very protective. There are some interesting ways around this. The orphanage is thinking of doing a student visa for her...not quite as good as adoption...but.
ReplyDeleteI can understand why the government would want to keep the children in Rwanda. The children of Rwanda are that country's greatest resource. They are the hope for a brighter future.
ReplyDeleteIf there are ways for us to partner with Rwandans to provide care for these children so that they can be raised in their native culture, surely that's a better way.
